Micah: My name is Micah Otis I’m from Nashville TN
2. How did you come up with Spinstatz?
Micah: Several reasons but mainly because there is a huge disconnect between artists and DJs. There are limited resources available to independent artists that are truly effective. For years there have been too many popular DJ entities taking money that do not have influence over their DJs. Many of these owners are greedy and do not share the wealth with their DJ team. They pocket all money received and offer no incentive to their DJs. It is because of this their DJs have no motivation to play music and are not loyal. The greed that blankets the music industry at the ground level makes it next to impossible to succeed. I created Spinstatz because there needed to be a resource that levels the playing field.
3. How has COVID affected the Spinstatz brand?
Micah: COVID has actually had a positive effect on our company. When clubs closed many DJs had no way to earn money. There was a big rise in DJs live streaming. We pay our DJs for streaming. Once Covid hit several DJs who were initially skeptical of our company were open to try our system. This positive effect went both ways as this was also good for independent artists using our system. Artists using our system received more attention than mainstream artists. Since the clubs were closed the money placed in our system by our clients REALLY MOTIVATED the DJs in our system to play their music..
4. What is the highest payout to a dj you have done?
Micah: The highest payout to a DJ to date has been $1,200 for one weeks effort. This particular DJ also averaged $600/week
5. Have labels been knocking the doors down to get their artist in the system?
Micah:No, many labels know about Spinstatz but have been monitoring us. A few have used our system and were blown away by the results.
6. Where do you see Spinstatz going in the near future?
Micah: In the near future I see Spinstatz having a huge say in the music industry’s next superstars.
7. Besides verified play what are the benefits music artist can gain from Spinstatz?
Micah: Currently we have over 2,000 active DJs in our system. More and more unknown artists using our system are able to make statements like, “My song was played by 20 DJs this passed weekend.” When independent artists begin to make statements like this they don’t stay unknown much longer.
